Vacation 2014 & On Having A BOY!

First of all the month of June has been a whirlwind of one event after another.  My last post was before the day we found out what our baby's gender was and followed up with my students' last musical performance, the last couple days of school, moving my classroom, leaving for a much needed vacation, returning to repack and go to youth camp.  Like I said...a whirlwind.  I want to give a special shout out to my father-in-law though.  He keeps me on my blogging toes.  Thanks for being our biggest fan, Donnie. ;)

Here we are though wanting to say we are so excited to say that we cannot be happier to say that WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER BOY.  Honestly, Matt & I both thought we were having a girl.  My pregnancy symptoms have been so different from my pregnancy with Jude that we were convinced it couldn't be another boy.  We asked the ultra-sound technician to not reveal the gender in the room, but rather put the picture into an envelope.  We left the doctor's office, went to Starbucks and opened the envelope at a little table in the corner of the shop.  I think both of our mouths dropped open and then directly turned into huge grins.  The only thing better than having one adorable boy is having two of them.  The next day we decided on a name (which coincidently was not even on our name list).  We absolutely cannot wait to meet Ezra!

Now...about our vacation.  We took Jude to the ocean for his first time to Gulf Shores, AL.  Thank you to our amazing friends Chris & Melinda Farley for providing housing for us.  The accommodations were perfect for our family.  The week was filled with sand playing, ocean swimming, seafood eating, and a lot resting.  One of the best things about this vacation had to be the uninterrupted family time.  Here a few (okay, maybe more than a few) pictures from our trip.

  2. Your pictures are beautiful! And Ezra is a great name. My son Dustin and his wife Emily and Eli and Owen were just at Gulf Shores, also. Emily's grandpa owns an apartment there. They just did ocean and swimming and family time and chasing and catching little crabs!!!!! Although they didn't really need more crabs in their family--lol! Glad you had a great time and a lot of R & R. Save some energy. Ezra will be coming soon. Our 5th grandchild is due in 10 days!!!! Derek & Jessica are looking forward to another girl or a shy boy.
