Hook, Line, and Sinker

Fishing.  Do you remember your first time?  Jude's first fishing experience left us unsuccessful in the "catching department".  We tried a second time last week for my brother-in-law's birthday celebration.  I have to say my heart was pretty much bursting with joy watching Jude and my nephew, Blayze pull their first fish out of the pond with their poles.  They were laughing, squealing, and jumping with delight all evening.   These little guys have changed our family's world.  I cannot explain how precious it is to see how much the boys love being with Grandpa and Grammy, and of course, the reverse is true too.  After catching a lot of fish, Dad made hotdogs over the bonfire (along with two "helpers").  Then, we ate and just enjoyed being out in the crisp, cool fall air surrounded by those we love.

Fall + Friends = Fun

It just wouldn't be fall season without a few parties with people you love!  Here are couple parties that we have been lucky to enjoy over the past few weeks.  The first is with our youth group, Haven, at our annual Fall Fling.  Color wars took place at this event and the battles were pretty fierce. ;)  We ate out of a garbage can (that is, a can designed for garbage but used for cooking) and we had the most fun playing glow-in-the-dark volleyball.  The second was an adult fall party at our good friends' home.  The Kellers planned a wonderful themed party where the Pirates battled the Navy.  I still think we need a rematch though, because I am not quite sure who the ultimate victors were. ;)  We ended the evening with a firework show, which I for one was truly grateful for.  Jude wasn't a fan of the loud booms this year, so I was finally able to see some.
