Vacation 2014 & On Having A BOY!

First of all the month of June has been a whirlwind of one event after another.  My last post was before the day we found out what our baby's gender was and followed up with my students' last musical performance, the last couple days of school, moving my classroom, leaving for a much needed vacation, returning to repack and go to youth camp.  Like I said...a whirlwind.  I want to give a special shout out to my father-in-law though.  He keeps me on my blogging toes.  Thanks for being our biggest fan, Donnie. ;)

Here we are though wanting to say we are so excited to say that we cannot be happier to say that WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER BOY.  Honestly, Matt & I both thought we were having a girl.  My pregnancy symptoms have been so different from my pregnancy with Jude that we were convinced it couldn't be another boy.  We asked the ultra-sound technician to not reveal the gender in the room, but rather put the picture into an envelope.  We left the doctor's office, went to Starbucks and opened the envelope at a little table in the corner of the shop.  I think both of our mouths dropped open and then directly turned into huge grins.  The only thing better than having one adorable boy is having two of them.  The next day we decided on a name (which coincidently was not even on our name list).  We absolutely cannot wait to meet Ezra!

Now...about our vacation.  We took Jude to the ocean for his first time to Gulf Shores, AL.  Thank you to our amazing friends Chris & Melinda Farley for providing housing for us.  The accommodations were perfect for our family.  The week was filled with sand playing, ocean swimming, seafood eating, and a lot resting.  One of the best things about this vacation had to be the uninterrupted family time.  Here a few (okay, maybe more than a few) pictures from our trip.

Boy or Girl? Baby #2

We are seriously on pins and needles at the Wilson household.  This is the week we find out if our baby is a boy or girl!!!!!! And yes, that deserves a lot of exclamation points. ;)  Honestly, we will be tickled with whatever the gender of our little bean is, but it's still exciting to find out and start all of the preparations.  We will definitely be posting an update, but until then we will get back to adding more potential names to both the boy and girl lists.  What do you think we are having?  We'd love to hear.

15 Weeks & A Date Night

Last night Matt & I went out…alone.  This doesn’t happen very often…mostly because we love having Jude around, but last night we made it happen.  I am blessed that I get to spend every day with my best friend, but going out by ourselves just reminds me of how much I love conversations with him, how he challenges me to be a better person, and that he understands me (which is not always easy).  There is a quote by Fawn Weaver that says, “A great marriage doesn’t just happen; it’s something that must be created.”  And I just have to say that I love what we are creating.

Our date night consisted of visiting the Dayton Art Institute and going out to dinner.  We captured a few moments of our evening.  Please enjoy!  Oh, and how about that baby bump?!?!?  Baby #2 is really popping out at week 15.  For those of you that are curious, now that I am in the second trimester the pregnancy has been relatively easy going.  However, the first trimester was another story…I felt as though I needed a nap every other hour.  Thank goodness for energy! :)
