Celebrating the 4th

If I could describe celebrating the 4th this year in a few words they would be...rain for days!  I seriously cannot remember a more wet July.  However, we were determined to make the best of it.  We visited with friends and family, and stayed on porches and in garages.  As I mentioned in a previous post, there was an unsuccessful attempt to watch fireworks due to Jude's fear of them.  We did find that he loved Pop-its, so we kinda went all out and bought several packets of those (sometimes you gotta take what you get). :)

  

Sandwiches in Cincy

We took a day trip to Cincinnati last week and went to one of our favorite sandwich places there, Terry's Turf Club.  This casual diner is well-known for it's yummy burgers and outrageous amount of neon signage.  This was the first time we took Jude, and although it isn't the most kid-friendly restaurant (no high chairs) he still loved it.  We went in between lunch and dinner time and the place was surprisingly pretty quiet.  I ordered a chicken sandwich and Matt went with a burger.  Both of us enjoyed our meals and Jude loved snacking off of our plates.

Please note: If you get a chance to visit Terry's, beware of the prices of adding toppings and sides.  It can get pretty expensive quickly.

Happy Independence Day

We want to wish you all a Happy 4th of July!  Here's to hoping your day is filled with family, friends, cookouts, sunny weather, and fireworks.  We took Jude to a firework show over the weekend and found out that he doesn't like is deathly afraid of fireworks.  He was literally shaking, crying, and holding tight to us.  He kept saying "bye, bye", so as we started to walk away (mind you, we were front and center because that is the best way to watch) he relaxed although he kept his head buried in my shoulder.  So, I said all of that to say that we will be watching from a distance this year.  Happy Independence Day!
