Getting Valentine-y

The day of red, pink, hearts, and all things lovey-dovey will soon be here.  We have been getting crafty in preparation. A trip to Hobby Lobby can be very dangerous when deciding to make homemade Valentine's cards...so many options...so many adorable things.  We settled for plastic eyeballs, shiny foam hearts, Sharpies, a red stamp pad, white cards, and white envelopes.  With a little help from the Ellison machine at work I was able to cut out some "U"s.  Putting all the parts together with Jude was fun...that is, until he was "asked" to put hand prints on the cards. Nevertheless, they turned out to be a cute keepsake for all of his "girlfriends". ;)

Saying Goodbye

While on our seemingly never-ending sickness bout, we did take some pics of a special night out with our family. Our cousin, Justin, is currently in med school on the island of Grenada.  He came home for a winter break and was getting ready to return.  Saying goodbye is never fun, but we attempted to make it at least a tasty one.  We met at Mellow Mushroom and had a fantastic dinner and some quality family time.  Of course, this was before we knew Jude was suffering from an ear infection, so he was quite "busy" the entire evening.  It did allow for some entertainment, though.  Here's to you, Justin!  Love you!

Hello, Again

Hi there!  No, we haven't disappeared or left the country.  Our long, unintentional, blog hiatus was due to a lot of sickness going on around here. :(  We just can't seem to catch a break lately.  Jude had his first trip to Urgent Care last week to find out he had a double-ear infection.  I contracted the flu for the second time this season.  Matt has not been functioning quite at 100% either.  Pretty depressing, right?!?!  However, it seems that now we are on the up and up *knock on wood*.

In order to lift our spirits, we decided to get out of the house this past weekend.  Matt had been wanting to visit the Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit at the Cincinnati Museum Center, so that was where we spent a large part of our Saturday.  We couldn't take pictures in the actual exhibit...preservation and all, but we did take some before and after.  On a side note: this exhibit was not the most "kid-friendly" and we knew that going into it.  Thankfully, Jude decided to fall asleep in his stroller half-way through it. :)

Blurry pic inside the glow-in-the-dark store.

Jude was getting a glimpse of the children's museum...of which we promised to take him to soon

He got a lot out of this visit ;)
