October Reds

Yes, it is October.  Yes, the Cincinnati Reds are were in the playoffs.  And yes, we did get tickets to see them play!!!  We were able to get tickets to Tuesday night's game, so Matt and I made a mad rush for the game after work.  My mom and dad volunteered to watch Jude for us.  We were grateful seeing that a stadium filled to capacity with standing room only would probably not be the ideal atmosphere for a 13 month old for 3+ hours.

With two games already won against the San Francisco Giants, we were looking for the Reds to  sweep 'em.  Unfortunately, that is not what happened.  :( The Reds ended up losing to the Giants 1-2.    However, all was not lost.  We had an amazing weeknight date...which is a rarity once a child is in the picture. 

 

NOTE: I was hoping to end the post with the good news that they won the series, but alas, no such luck.  So until next year...

Pumpkin Pickin'

We took Jude for a first-time visit to a pumpkin farm this weekend and goodness, did he love it!  This little farm near our house sells pumpkins and other fall goodies, so we went there to let him pick one out.  Remember my mention of his love for pets?  Well, they had cats there, and let's just say he was pretty entertained by following them around.  We did eventually get him to choose a pumpkin and of course, Matt and I had to get one, too.  Time to do some pumpkin carving!

Let's Go Red Legs

This post is in honor of our beloved Cincinnati Reds going to the playoffs this weekend.  We are sending our best wishes.  And yes, we are kinda bummed around here, because we keep getting rejection e-mails saying we have not been selected to purchase playoff tickets.  On a side note, Jude is not too fond of hats; however, he decided to love this one.  He was actually upset when we made him take it off to go to bed.  If you are wondering why he looks so tired...well, let's just say he was and it was past his bedtime.  Please don't judge our parenting skills.  It has been a long and busy week. ;)

A Year of Pictures

Perhaps I've said it before, but my how an infant changes over the first year of life.  The past year has been a whirlwind for Matt and I...lots of learning curves for us as brand new parents.  Even still, here we are with our precious little boy and are looking forward to many years to come.  This is a peek into how he has changed over the past year.

West Coast Meets Ohio

The one and only Jack in the Box fast-food restaurant recently opened in West Chester, Ohio.  With all of the hubbub about how amazing their food is, we decided we would try it.  However, it seemed every time we passed it the line was always "good grief" long.  Over the weekend we made a go for it with our patience in check.  Matt and I both tried their burgers, but it must be noted that they do have a very diverse menu.  In our opinion they were not "Shake Shack good" which I mentioned here, although they were pretty yum for a fast-food chain.
