Classroom Visitor

My little man was able to come to our school costume parade and party last week.  It was definitely a treat for this momma and teacher.  I loved introducing Jude to my students and boy, did he love all of the attention he received!  Special thanks to my mom-in-law for dropping him off for this fun event.

Yep, This Really Happened

Our school has a McTeacher Night every year for a fundraiser.  The idea is if the teachers volunteer to work at McDonald's the students will come and eat there.  A portion of the proceeds that are made in that evening go toward our school.  Good idea, good cause, right!?  I missed it last year since I was on maternity leave still, but all of the memories of previous McTeacher nights came flooding back to me as I was thrown right into the trenches last night.  I signed up to work at the McCafe.  I arrived for my one hour long duty. The training...less than two minutes long.  And then there I was a glorified McFlurry and McFrappe producer.  Let me tell you, the fast-food business...not as easy as it looks.  The best part of the night was, of course, seeing my current and former students getting a kick out of seeing me working at McDonald's.  The worst part was smelling like french fries for the rest of the evening. ;)
How I hoped to look as I was working,

How I REALLY looked.  Confused, maybe? ;)

Tears of Joy

Do you ever have those moments of joy that just bring you to tears?  I do...especially when I pray.  Sometimes the goodness of God is overwhelming like that.  During my quiet time with God today, I had one of those moments.  I was giving thanks for my wonderful little family and...

how He allowed Matt & I to cross paths and become soul mates for life

how He knew exactly what I would need for a husband and gave me + more

how He placed similar desires and visions in our hearts

how He gave us the beautiful gift of a son

how even though life is difficult at times we are committed to one another

So yes, tears of joy.  May you have many quiet times with God like these.

Sisterhood

There is something about having a sister that is just...special.  No one knows you like your sister.

She knows your weaknesses and still loves you.

She knows your strengths and is proud of you.

She knows what your thinking and sometimes even before you think it.

She knows you love her even though you forget to tell her at times.

It doesn't matter how much you grow up and change...she is still your sister and still just as special.  The only possible thing that could make her even more special is watching both your children grow together and knowing that special bond will begin with them.

Have a lovely weekend.

Football Frenzy

Around this time of year football becomes the game to watch, play, or pretend to play {all of you fantasy players know what I'm talking 'bout ;)}.  We took Jude to his first live football game the other day.  No, it wasn't a pro, a college, or even a high school game.  We went to a jr. high game.  Matt's 7th graders had a kind-of-big-deal game, so out we went to support the students and cheer them on.  We had a great time...minus the chilly weather.  The students loved seeing Jude!  And of course, Jude and I loved meeting them and hearing their praise of "Mr. Wilson's class".
